Operation all set.

Ella is all set for Surgery tomorrow (Tuesday 2nd March) at 7:30 am - we won't see her for 6-8 hours after that. Then it's 5-10 days in the hospital. -- 2-5 of those in the ICU and the rest in a regular room.

It is going to be an early start but it is better as Ella cannot eat for about 12 hours before the operation.

Update

We have managed to see Ella, although she got very stressed when she saw her so we had to take a few steps back. We did go back in, but after a while she started to wake and got stressed again....I couldn't take it anymore so at the moment I am sitting in a rest area typing this. Michelle is still in there. I think that with us both around it makes things worse.

Currently she is in intensive care, semi conscious, lots of things bleeping and connected up to more equipment than is in our server room. The staff here are being great, we have been given a place to sleep but will probably go home.

The nurses have suggested that tonight we go home as tomorow, if they take the breathing tube out, she will be more awake and we will need to be fully awake when that happens.

We are happy (to say the least) that she is ok and through the surgery. We are though the worst of it, but it is not over yet.

  2. Congratulations to you three. Get some sleep if you can as you're in it for the long haul. The days pass very slowly at the hospital! Thank you so much for updating the blog. We are following along from home and hoping for the best at every turn.
